Courage to say NO? Courage to STOP?
We as project managers are often under enormous pressure to deliver the projects assigned to us on time, in high quality and within the set budget.

With the great complexity that a project entails due to organizational structures, team composition, perhaps even high risks associated with the project implementation, we are challenged to be courageous for ourselves, our team and the project to achieve these goals.
In situations in which there is great uncertainty, do you accept this kind of uncertainty as given?
In moments when stakeholder groups want to add more to the project scope, can you formulate a clear NO?
In unrealistic conditions and expectations from the organization, can you stop a project before it has even started?
Often you cannot see the wood for the trees and the pressure to act and to make a decision gets bigger and bigger.

In such situations, I advise you to „step out“ of the project and reflect on the situation for yourself to find out what decision you have to make. And in a second step, do exactly the same with your project team – in the sense of a „time-out“ or „review“.
By sitting down with your team and reflecting for a moment on the given situation and jointly weighing up options for action or possible decisions, you are accessing the WE intelligence of the team.
Just as every human being has a certain intelligence quotient, IQ in short, so does every team have this IQ, the so-called WE-Q – the WE intelligence.
You will see that this will give your project an unbelievable push forward and „by the way“ will also strengthen your team spirit!
Have the courage to actively use the WE-intelligence of your team in your project. You will absolutely benefit from it!
